Sergio was the Founder and CEO of iPorta Corp., which is North America's largest interactive healthcare media co. In 2016, iPorta was acquired by HNCI, a private equity backed hospital IT solutions provider. Sergio also has investment banking and private equity experience, and is an expert in the Toyota Production System.
Sergio has an Honours BaSc. degree in Industrial Engineering (with qualification for a minor degree in Japanese) from the University of Toronto, and an MBA from Harvard Business School (where he co-authored three case studies on entrepreneurship).
Sergio was a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto and has appeared in Forbes Magazine, The Globe and Mail, Liquid Lunch, and on the John Tory show. He has volunteered for the Association of Democracy for Romania and for Jump, a math-tutoring program for underprivileged children. He speaks Romanian and Japanese. He is currently the Canadian co-head of the Harvard Business School Healthcare Alumni Industry Association.
